Matt Riddle, who originally became known as a standout on The Ultimate Fighter where he scored one of the most devastating knockouts in the show’s history, fought all of his professional mixed martial arts bout inside of the octagon.
However, after failing drug tests for marijuana in two of his last three bouts and making some ridiculous comments about his marijuana usage, Riddle was cut loose.
He then signed with Bellator, but never fought for the promotion after an injury forced him out of the welterweight tournament and he has been out of action due to “retirement” since Feb. of 2013.
Now, Riddle is set to return to the cage.
Riddle (7-3, 2 NC) will be facing former UFC fighter Michael Kuiper (12-3) in the co-main event of Legacy FC 27 on Feb. 28 at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, KS.. The bout is set to be at middleweight.
The event is expected to be headlined by a bout between two more former UFC competitors, Mike Ricci vs. Jorge Gurgels and air on CBS Sports Network.
