Former UFC and WEC Featherweight, Leonard Garcia, will make his first title defense for Legacy Fighting Championship on March 21st at Legacy 29. Garcia, who is riding a three fight winning streak, defeated Kevin Aguilar back in December to claim the Featherweight title. He will now defend the belt against Shane Howell in the main event of the evening.

Howell (13-7) has not competed since March 2012, but will be given a title shot in his Legacy FC debut. Howell is currently on a 6 fight winning streak, including 5 by way of submission or TKO. He will certainly be taking a big step up in competition to face Garcia in March.

Garcia (18-11-1) has finally turned his career around in a positive direction. Last April, Garcia was cut from the UFC after losing to Cody McKenzie, which was his fifth straight loss in the organization. Garcia got back into the cage quickly, fighting three times for Legacy FC in a span of five months and securing their Featherweight title. Another victory for Garcia in March, and he could be making his way back to the Octagon by the summer.

There is currently no word from Legacy FC as to who else will fighting on the March card. We will continue to update you when any further information is made available.
