Lyoto Machida’s signature moves

Lyoto ‘The Dragon’ Machida heads down to his native Brazil this weekend to headline the UFC Fight Night 36 card from Jaragua Do Sul. His opponent is the former StrikeForce Light Heavyweight champion, Gegard Mousasi. Both men are looking for a statement victory inside the UFC’s Middleweight division that will move them one step closer to UFC gold.

In preparation of the event, the UFC has recently released a special segment called ‘Lyoto Machida’s Signature Moves’. Check out the segment in the video above.

UFC president, Dana White, has made it clear that if Lyoto Machida wins on Saturday night, he will be next in line to fight for the UFC Middleweight bout. The former Light Heavyweight champion moved down to 185 after a few frustrating decision losses at 205. When Machida defeated Rashad Evans at UFC 98 to win the Light Heavyweight title, many believed that he would not relinquish it for a long time. Unfortunately for Machida, he was only able to hang on to the belt for one more fight before losing it to Shogun Rua.

After fighting his way back to a Light Heavyweight title shot, Machida was finished in spectacular fashion by Jon Jones at UFC 140. Since then, Machida was not able to get back to a Light Heavyweight title shot, and made the move down to 185 pounds. After a head kick KO victory over Mark Munoz in his debut, Machida is just one win away from another UFC title shot.
