Raphael Assuncao and Pedro Munhoz share photo after UFC 170 battle


One of the more pivotal preliminary bouts of UFC 170 was the Bantamweight fight between Raphael Assuncao and UFC newcomer, Pedro Munhoz. Assuncao was looking for his sixth straight victory at Bantamweight in the UFC, while Munhoz was hoping to play spoiler on short notice.

In the end, Assuncao walked away with a unanimous decision victory over three hard fought rounds. With the win, Assuncao likely cemented his spot as the #1 contender for the UFC’s Bantamweight championship and a fight against Renan Barao.

Munhoz, the former RFA Bantamweight champion, looked solid on short notice and should have a bright career inside the UFC. After the bout, the two fighters shared a photo that was posted by Ed Soares on Instagram:
