Bellator, Everlast to debut new ‘Everlock’ MMA glove on Friday

On Friday night, Bellator will be kicking off their season 10 tournaments at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. Not only will the light heavyweight and featherweight tournaments get underway, but Bellator has also teamed up with Everlast to debut a new glove at the event.

The new “PowerLock” glove was designed by Everlast to promote “proper hand form and technique” and further protect fighters from hand injuries.

“Fighter safety is absolutely paramount in every decision we make, and when our team sat down with Everlast, both of our companies shared one goal: take the next step in advancing the protection for every athlete that steps into our cage,” said Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney in the release.

“We’ve already had countless fighters test this new glove in full sparring, and the reviews have been off the charts. Working in partnership with Everlast, we have created a glove that not only improves fighter comfort but also lowers the risk of injury from both an offensive and defensive perspective.”

The glove looks like your standard glove, but if it can cut down on broken hands it will be a big win for the fighters.

Unfortunately, the glove won’t be able to do anything about incidental eye pokes.
