This past weekend most MMA fans were fixated on Bellator 112 and UFC Fight Night 38. If you were among those who did not watch any MMA on Saturday, then you missed a knockout of the year candidate at Cage Warriors 66. Do not fret, however, because FanSided has got you covered.
In the main event of the evening, Nicolas Dalby took on Sergei Churilov for the vacant Welterweight title (more on that later). After three hard fought rounds, Dalby came out firing on all cylinders in the fourth and uncorked an incredible head kick to knock out Churilov. With the win, Dalby became the new Cage Rage Welterweight champion. You can watch the incredible KO in the video above.
The previous Welterweight champion, Cathal Pendred, was forced to vacate his title after he was selected to be a member of TUF 19. Other UFC stars, such as Conor McGregor, Michael Bisping, and Dan Hardy all fought in Cage Warriors.
Cage Warriors will continue to produce European talent that will ultimately make it’s way to the UFC. Who knows, maybe Nicolas Dalby will be the next Cage Warriors champion to move on to the UFC.
As for Pendred and The Ultimate Fighter, season 19 is set to premiere on Fox Sports 1 on April 16th.
