Scott Jorgensen was not happy with the result of his bout against Jussier Formiga at UFC Fight Night 38 in Natal, Brazil, which was his flyweight debut. Jorgensen believed that an illegal headbutt from Formiga led to the fight-ending rear-naked choke in the first round, and he opened up an appeal of the loss to the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA).
Jorgensen went on a rant after his loss by calling it “bullsh–,” but his disappointment did not change the result.
After reviewing the bout and Jorgensen’s appeal, the CABMMA decided that they would not be appealing the result of the bout.
With his first-round submission loss to Formiga, he fell to 14-9 overall and 3-5 under the UFC banner. Jorgensen now has three straight losses and is just 1-5 in his last six bouts, which means that he will be in a must-win situation for his next bout.
Jorgensen must now wait for the UFC to book his next fight in hopes of getting back in the win column.
