Ronda Rousey vs. Alexis Davis set for UFC 175

On Friday night, UFC president Dana White made a big announcement that added a new title fight to the UFC 175 fight card on July 5. While many believed that Gina Carano could be joining the UFC and getting a shot at UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, Rousey will be defending her title against Alexis Davis on Fourth of July Weekend.

Dana White announced the news on Twitter:

Davis is currently riding a five-fight winning streak, with her last win coming in a controversial split-decision victory over Jessica Eye at UFC 170, where Rousey successfully defended her title in the main event with a first-round TKO of Sara McMann.

UFC 175 will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas as part of International Fight Week.
