Bellator MMA was able to make their pay-per-view debut over the weekend, as promotions throughout mixed martial arts continue to work towards competing with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. While no one is close to the UFC in terms of popularity, the smaller promotions can look to make splashes that will get them much needed attention.
That seems to be what World Series of Fighting has in store soon.
On Sunday night, WSOF sent out a message that “HUGE” news was coming soon. The promotion promises that the news will “make MMA history.”

Those are some lofty expectations, so we will have to anxiously sit back to see what the promotion has in mind. There was also no timetable given, so we may be waiting for a while until the “historic” announcement comes our way.
If we had to take a quick guess, it would be that WSOF is abandoning their plans for the Fourth of July Weekend show that would have competed with UFC 175 and merging the card with WSOF 10 later next month. If that is the case, WSOF could be putting on a card with four title fights, which may be the most we have ever seen on a televised card.
