The UFC heavyweight champion of the world, Cain Velasquez is finally healed up and ready to make his way back to the Octagon to defend his title once again. Standing in his way is the No. 1 contender, “Vai Cavalo” Fabricio Werdum.
Werdum earned his title shot by defeating the streaking Travis Browne by decision at UFC on FOX 11 back in April. With the victory, Werdum also earned his second stint as an Ultimate Fighter head coach. Werdum coached against Minotauro Nogueira on the second season of TUF Brazil back in 2013. This time, he coached against Velasquez in the first season of TUF: Latin America.
The first season of TUF: Latin America just finished filming yesterday, and Dana White posted a video on Instagram of the coaches squaring off:
Here is the caption White added alongside the video:
We just wrapped a sick season 1 of TUF Latin America!!#tuflatinamerica #ufc #televisa #ufcnetwork
The two men will step into the Octagon against each other at UFC 180 on November 15th as the UFC heads to Mexico for their first ever live event.
Earlier this week, Dana White stated that Cain Velasquez is the UFC’s next big superstar. The pay-per-view buyrate for UFC 180 will certainly tell whether or not Dana is right.
