UFC Fight Night 44: Jeremy Stephens’ fight blog

The UFC is back this weekend with another double dose of mixed martial arts action for fans willing to wake up in the wee hours of the morning.

If you are not so inclined to wake up at 5 a.m. ET to watch UFC Fight Night 43 live from New Zealand, then check out UFC Fight Night 44 live on Fox Sports 1 from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. The main card, headlined by a critical featherweight matchup between the returning Cub Swanson and the streaking Jeremy Stephens, will start at 10 p.m. ET.

For Stephens, this will be his second UFC main event, but his first in over five years. Back in 2009, Stephens took on Joe Lauzon in the main event at UFC Fight Night 17, losing by way of armbar late in the second round.

To celebrate his main event, Stephens has unveiled a brand new video blog detailing his week leading up to his fight with Swanson. Check out the first episode of Stephens’ blog in the video below:

Stephens has seen a career resurgence over the last 13 months. After losing three straight in the lightweight division, Stephens dropped down to featherweight last May and has won three in a row. With a win over Swanson on Saturday night, it would be hard for the UFC to deny him a title shot.
