Two PRIDE and UFC legends are in the midst of potentially ironing out a contract to fight each other for the third time. Wanderlei Silva, who could be facing a suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission, wants a trilogy fight with Dan Henderson, and the American has given his approval of the potential bout.
Wanderlei, speaking with Brazilian media outlet lancenet.com, discussed his return to the Octagon and who he would like to face:
It’s not news that I want to face Vitor Belfort or Chael Sonnen, but Dan Henderson is another guy that I want to fight, it’s a viable possibility. We’re 1-1 tied and it would be nice to have a tiebreaker of our score. In my last fight at PRIDE, I lost my belt to him and I couldn’t have a rematch because we left. If this fight happens, I’ll ask him to bring the belt so the winner can have it after the fight.
The idea of a Pride belt exchanging hands after a UFC fight is simply ludicrous, but a trilogy bout between Silva and Henderson seems like a good idea.
When Henderson caught word of Silva expressing his desire for a trilogy fight, Henderson had this to say on Twitter:

Often times when two fighters agree to a fight on social media, the UFC will oblige them and book the bout. At this point, however, the UFC has to wait and see what the NSAC does with Wanderlei regarding a suspension. If it is just a slap on the wrist, he could be fighting Henderson before the year ends.
