With UFC 263 in the books, here are three things we learned from UFC president Dana White during his post-fight scrum from Arizona.

Dana White spoke to the media after UFC 263 and touched on a variety of different topics, both about the event itself and other newsworthy topics within the MMA space.

Here are three things we learned from the post-fight press conference.

1. Israel Adesanya is becoming an Anderson Silva-type figure

With his fifth-straight title defense, Israel Adesanya reaffirmed himself as the best middleweight in the sport. White was throughly impressed with his performance and sees a lot of similarities between Adesanya and former middleweight champion, Anderson Silva. While it has not been confirmed, Adesanya has expressed interest in rematching Robert Whittaker, ideally in Australia, for his next defense.

2. There are no plans to travel around the country for “Fight Night” shows anytime soon

Similarly to UFC 262, White once again explained that it’s better for business if the “Fight Night” cards remained at the UFC APEX or Fight Island until the entire country is re-open. He did give a small hint that “Fight Night” cards could return to other states if the normalcy process speeds up, but White seems content on keeping everything as is.

3. Dana White spoke to Floyd Mayweather after his exhibition with Logan Paul

White revealed that although he didn’t watch the fight as it happened, he did contact Floyd Mayweather to discuss his bout with Logan Paul. White also verified the pay-per-view numbers with people whom he trusts, and re-confirmed that the reported numbers of 1.2 million pay-per-view buys were, in-fact, true.

White was pleased with his event overall, complimenting the state of Arizona for welcoming the UFC with open arms. The weekly event schedule rolls on with UFC Vegas 29 next Saturday night.
