Bellator has made a big announcement for the upcoming year, the events beginning in April will be shown on Showtime.
Bellator MMA has made a huge announcement, they will be making a broadcast move in 2021. On Tuesday afternoon Bellator announced at a press conference that the events will be shown on Showtime going forward beginning on April 2. Previously on DAZN and Paramount, the exclusive deal with Showtime is a great move for the organization. Viewers can sign up for a 30-day free trial to watch these events and receive a discount of $4.99 for the next six months by using Bellator’s link.
“We’ve been interested in MMA for quite a while,” Showtime Sports President Stephen Espinoza said during the press conference. “We have a long history in the sport going back almost 15 years to the days of Elite XC and Strikeforce. We did some big events, built some big stars. [Daniel] Cormier, [Luke] Rockhold, [Tyron] Woodley, [Ronda] Rousey, [Gilbert] Melendez, and on and on, and of course we were the first ones to bring televised MMA to a national broadcast network, that was CBS way back in 2008.”
In addition to this big move to Showtime, Bellator announced its first four events in 2021. Bellator will be heading back to the Mohegan Sun in CT for these events.
