Who is The Ultimate Fighter season 29 middleweight, Tresean Gore?

For the first time since heavyweights and women’s flyweight contestants competed on The Ultimate Fighter season 28 in 2018, hopeful UFC contestants will once again fight on national television for a chance at a six-figure contract.

During the UFC Vegas 24 broadcast, the promotion cordially introduced TUF season 29’s coaches, Alex Volkanovski and Brian Ortega. They also released the full 16-man roster composed of eight middleweights and eight men’s bantamweights.

One of the middleweights ready to earn a shot at the world’s premier mixed martial arts promotion is Tresean Gore from North Myrtle Beach, S.C. Gore, whose last name could not be more fitting for a mixed martial artist, trains with American Top Team Lima in Gwinnett County, Ga.

At 26 years old with just three professional fights under his belt, “Mr. Vicious”, is one of, if not the rawest talent on TUF season 29’s middleweight roster. Equally important, Gore won his previous two bouts at 205 pounds and hasn’t competed at middleweight since March 2018.

What can fans expect from Gore on this season of TUF?

But there’s a reason Dana White has recognized Gore as a deserving talent for this season of TUF. With a raw but impressive 3-0 professional record, Gore is one of two undefeated fighters on the middleweight roster. A versatile combatant, Gore has one doctor’s stoppage victory, a submission, and a 15-minute split decision win.

His most recent fight, a first-round submission over Christian Echols in October 2020, was under the Alabama Fighting Championship (AFC) banner. Before that, Gore fought his first two professional bouts with the National Fighting Championship (NFC) out of Kennesaw, Ga. Gore was 3-1 as an amateur with highlights including a first-round rear-naked choke and seizing the Fight Lab’s vacant middleweight belt in 2014 at just 20 years old.

It’ll be interesting to see his return to 185 pounds in TUF season 29, but there’s no disputing Gore’s potential as a fighter with the UFC. Undefeated with plenty of fight left in his tank, Gore is without question one of the names to watch in the upcoming season of TUF.
