DWCS week 7: Vitor Petrino vs. Rodolfo Bellato official weigh-in results.

Dana White’s Contender Series rolls into week 7 on Monday, Sept. 5, with the fighters stepping on the scale hoping for a fourth consecutive week of five contract winners.

Last week saw five more contracts earned with four stoppages. On Tuesday night, 10 hungry contenders, including two highly-touted Brazilian brothers, look to keep the momentum going.

The feature fight of the night is a light heavyweight rematch between Brazils Rodolfo Bellato (8-1) and Vitor Petrino (6-0). Bellato is on a three-fight win streak, all by stoppage since his lone loss to Petrino. The undefeated Petrino has been a bit busier since winning five fights, with only one going to the scorecards. The rematch carries much more than revenge or bragging rights; a UFC contract is on the line.

The card starts with a women’s flyweight battle between unbeaten fighters Tereza Bledá (5-0) and Nayara Maia (7-0-1). Bledá is Tapology’s No. 3 ranked woman pound for pound in Eastern Europe. In comparison, Maia is Tapology’s top-ranked woman in Latin America, pound for pound.

Sandwiched between the Bonfim brothers is a heavyweight bout between Jimmy Lawson (4-1) and Karl Williams. Lawson, the former Penn St. wrestler, has finished all four wins with strikes.

Two Brazilians, Gabriel and Ismael Bonfim, will look to become the next pair of brothers in the UFC. First, the older brother Ismael Bonfim (17-3) faces off against Nariman Abbasov (28-3) at lightweight. Bonfim, Tapology’s No. 2 ranked Brazilian lightweight, hasn’t lost since 2014 at the hands of Renato Moicano. Abbasov is Tapology’s top-ranked Russian lightweight and welterweight and is on a 13-fight win streak.

The younger Bonfim brother, Gabriel (12-0), battles Trey Waters (6-0) at welterweight. The undefeated Bonfim, Tapology’s No. 9 ranked Brazilian welterweight, has never seen the judge’s scorecards. Waters has only needed the judges once in six contests, so don’t leave your seats during this one.
