The UFC returns to Salt Lake City, UT after a six-year hiatus for UFC 278: Kamaru Usman vs. Leon Edwards 2. The fight card currently features 13 fights live from Vivint Arena on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, starting at 6:00 p.m ET on ESPN/ESPN+.

The main event features a rematch more than six years in the making, between welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and No.6 ranked Leon Edwards. The first matchup ended with Usman winning a unanimous decision after a “rocky” first round. Both fighters have impressed since Usman is on a 15-fight win streak and Edwards hasn’t lost in 10 fights since their first meeting. We’ll see who has grown more and who may have learned more from the first fight.

In the co-main event, former title challenger Paulo Costa enters the octagon to face a former champion, Luke Rockhold, in a middleweight affair. Costa is looking to get back into the title mix after back-to-back losses, one to current middleweight champ Israel Adesanya. Rockhold is also coming off two losses and hasn’t fought in over two years. Costa offers both a huge challenge and an opportunity for relevancy once again for Rockhold.

Also on the card is a bantamweight clash between top ten contenders José Aldo and Merab Dvalishvili The winner figures to stay in the hunt for gold in a packed bantamweight division.
