At UFC Paris, Brazilian lightweight Gabriel Miranda will make his first appearance as a UFC fighter.

Better known by his nickname “Fly,” Brazilian lightweight Gabriel Miranda is set to make his UFC debut this Saturday at the UFC‘s first ever event in France.

Miranda (16-5) is a spectacular submission artist, amassing an astonishing 15 of his 16 victories with his jiu jitsu skills. Prior to signing with the UFC, Miranda has fought in promotions including Pancrase, Brave FC, and Face The Danger.

At UFC Paris, Miranda will face the toughest challenge of his career yet in the French “God of War” Benoit Saint-Denis (9-1). Fighting on his home turf, Saint-Denis is a significant favorite at -285. Just like Miranda, Saint-Denis has all but one of his wins by submission, so fans can expect a grappling affair.

Submission artist Gabriel Miranda will go head to head with another submission ace at UFC Paris.

According to Tapology, Miranda is the No. 33-ranked Latin American lightweight. Riding a 3 fight win streak, he will look to notch another victory to his record at UFC Paris. Miranda vs. Saint-Denis is the third bout of day on the preliminary card.

Miranda hails from Parana, Brazil, however he has been training with MMA Masters in Miami, Florida for quite some time. MMA Masters is home to fighters including Colby Covington, Ilia Topuria, and Rafael Alves.

UFC Paris will be a big proving ground for the 32-year-old Miranda, who last fought in Oct. 2021 for Brazil’s Face The Danger promotion. Miranda faced Diego Siqueira, who he defeated via rear-naked choke just 75 seconds into the first round.
