The Los Angeles Rams made a blockbuster trade in the offseason to acquire Matt Stafford from the Detroit Lions, thinking that he would be the final piece of the puzzle that the Rams would need to win a Super Bowl.

After a hot start to the season which made the Rams seem like contenders and Stafford look like an MVP candidate, things have gone south in recent weeks. The Rams have now lost three straight games, and Stafford has looked bad in those starts.

As a result, the Rams have fallen to +1200 odds to win the Super Bowl at WynnBET, and Stafford is now +1600 to win NFL MVP.

Is Matt Stafford the Problem with the Rams?

Maybe Stafford's lack of wins in Detroit can't solely be blamed on the fact that he played for the Lions. Despite the plethora of weapons he has at his disposal, he's putting up career average numbers. In fact, he's on pace to throw for more interceptions than he has in a single season since 2013 when he threw 19.

He's thrown a pick six in three straight games. It's tough to win against good teams when you're handing them six points every week.

In fact, the quarterback who traded spots with Stafford, Jared Goff, has been the better quarterback through each team's last three games.

Then you come across this eye-popping number, and the gears in your head begin to turn.

At 7-4, the Rams season is certainly far from over. They'll likely make the playoffs, and then they can make things right by going on a run. But right now, if you're a Rams fan, your faith in Stafford and Sean McVay has to shaken.
