The 20-13 San Francisco Giants saw their six-game winning streak snapped yesterday, but hope to get back in the win column as they take on the 18-15 St. Louis Cardinals tonight at 7:08 PM EST on Sunday Night Baseball.

We've got a splendid pitching matchup as Carlos Rodón takes on Adam Wainwright. Rodón has been incredible for San Francisco, amassing a 1.80 ERA over six starts while not allowing more than two runs in a single outing.

Wainwright hasn't quite been that good, but he's coming off a seven shutout innings against Kansas City and has a quality start in each of his last two games.

Can Wainwright give St. Louis back-to-back wins or will Rodón and the Giants exact revenge?

Let's take a peak at the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook to find some value in this Giants vs Cardinals Sunday Night Baseball matchup:

Giants vs Cardinals Odds, Run Line and Total

Run Line:

  • Giants -1.5 (+115)
  • Cardinals +1.5 (-140)

Moneyline:

  • Giants: -142
  • Cardinals: +132

Total:

  • 7.0 (Over -120/Under +100)

Giants vs Cardinals Prediction and Pick

Carlos Rodón has been straight ridiculous this year. He's got a league-best 1.21 FIP (Fielding Independent Pitching), hasn't allowed a home run and ranks near the top of MLB in a number of key metrics. Just look at his pitching profile from Baseball Savant:

He's averaging an obscene 13.6 strikeouts per nine innings and has been as close to unhittable as he could possibly be. Today's matchup is an excellent test, as the Cardinals rank fourth in OPS against left-handed pitchers, though they haven't faced someone as formidable as Rodón.

Adam Wainwright is in the 93rd percentile in hard hit percentage and has been excellent in his own right (pun intended), but it's almost impossible to achieve the levels Rodón has reached. He's in only the fourth percentile in whiff percentage and has struggled a bit with walks. That could pose an issue against a Giants lineup that averages the third-most walks per game in MLB.

This should be a close game, but I can't pick against Rodón with how absurd he's been. Give me the Giants to improve to 19-8 as a favorite and give the Cardinals their sixth loss in eight contests.

Pick: Giants (-142)
