The Jacksonville Jaguars have had the worst record in the NFL for two-straight seasons.

Now, with the Urban Meyer era mercilessly over, the team can officially move on and try to take a step forward in 2022.

Super Bowl winning head coach, Doug Pederson, has entered the picture and he'll try to bring the Jaguars back into relevancy.

Let's dive into how the oddsmakers project they'll fare in the upcoming season.

Jacksonville Jaguars 2022 Offseason Moves, Signings, Coaching Changes

  • Fired HC Urabn Meyer, Hired Doug Pederson as new HC.
  • Drafted DE Travon Walker from Georgia with 1st overall pick in 2022 NFL Draft.
  • Drafted LB Devin Lloyd from Utah with 27th overall pick in 2022 NFL Draft.
  • Signed WR Christian Kirk from the Arizona Cardinals.
  • Signed TE Evan Engram from the New York Giants.

Jacksonville Jaguars 2022 Schedule

The Jaguars kick their season off with a game against the Washington Commander. Their home opener will be in Week 2 against their divisional rival, the Indianapolis Colts.

The Jaguars only have one prime time game this season. It's a Week 16 Thursday Night Football matchup against the New York Jets.

The Jaguars will also play the Denver Broncos at Wembley Stadium in London in Week 8.

Jacksonville Jaguars 2022 Win Total Prediction

  • OVER 6.5 Wins (+110)
  • UNDER 6.5 Wins (-130)

The Jaguars have won a combined four wins in the last two seasons, but yet their season win total is set at 6.5 for 2022. I don't buy in.

Trevor Lawrence had a disappointing rookie season. He completed only 59.6% of passes, and threw 17 interceptions compared to 12 touchdowns. For Jacksonville to have any level of success this season, they need Lawrence to take a significant step forward.

Outside of the draft, the Jaguars didn't do much to improve their defense. They ranked 25th in opponent yards per play last season, and need more than Travon Walker and Devin Lloyd to fix their issues.

I don't think they'll have the worst record in the NFL for a third-straight season, and Doug Pederson is a significantly better head coach than Urban Meyer, but I'll still take the UNDER 6.5 on their win total.

Pick: UNDER 6.5 Wins (-130)

Jacksonville Jaguars 2022 Odds to Win AFC South, AFC, and Super Bowl

  • To Make the Playoffs: +450
  • Odds to Win AFC South: +800
  • Odds to Win AFC: +6500
  • Odds to Win Super Bowl 57: +13000

The only way for the Jaguars to compete in the AFC South, would be for both the Tennessee Titans and the Colts to stumble in a big way. With that being said, there could be a wild card spot up to grab if the Jaguars exceed expectations this season.

I won't be betting on it myself. I think the Jaguars are still a year or two away, and I need to see improvement from Lawrence before I'm willing to part with my money.

With that being said, if you believe in the Jaguars, go ahead and bet on them to make the playoffs at +450.
