The Toronto Blue Jays will need to beat the Baltimore Orioles today and get some help from another team or their season will be over.

The MLB season is 162 games long, and yet here we are. On the final day, we could see four different teams in the American League finish tied with the exact same record.

The Yankees and Red Sox currently sit in the two wild card spots at 91-70, but the Blue Jays and Mariners are one game behind at 90-71. If the Yankees and/or Red Sox lose today, chaos could ensue.

That means the Jays and Mariners are in must-win situations today, but thankfully for Toronto fans, they have the easiest matchup of the bunch.

The Blue Jays are set to host the Orioles, who hold the second-worst record in the Majors at 52-109. WynnBET has the Blue Jays set as -320 favorites (bet $320 to profit $100) and the Orioles come in as +260 (bet $100 to profit $260) underdogs. The total for the game is set at 10 runs.

Blue Jays Playoff Scenarios

All the Blue Jays can do today is make sure they take care of business against the Orioles, and then hope that the Yankees and/or Red Sox fall to their opponents. The Yankees host the Rays, but have already lost the first two games of the series including a 12-2 blowout yesterday. The opposite is true for the Red Sox who take on the Nationals in Washington today, as Boston has won the first two games of the series heading into the finale.

If the Yankees and Red Sox both win their respective games today, they will face each other in the wild card game. If either of them lose and the Mariners and/or Jays win, we will see a playoff to determine who will get the wild card spots.

The most chaotic result would be if both the Yankees and Red Sox lose, and both the Blue Jays and Mariners win. That would leave a four-way tie for the two wild card spots which would mean we would get to see a mini-post season before the actual post-season to determine the two wild card spots.

Here is how that would go down:

 Blue Jays vs Orioles Prediction

There’s no reason to believe the Blue Jays won’t hold up their end of the bargain today. They have one of the best offenses in baseball, and they’ll be facing the worst pitching staff in the Majors today with a shot at the postseason on the line.

Of the four important games today, the Blue Jays have the shortest odds of all. I have no doubt they will get the job done, so I’ll be betting on their -2.5 run line at -130. That means the Jays will need to win by at least three runs to cash the bet. I have faith in Toronto.
