2022-2023 NCAA Women's Basketball National Championship Odds for Every Team
By Ben Heisler
College basketball's weekly Associated Press Top 25 poll and the oddsmakers don't often see eye-to-eye when it comes to college basketball rankings relative to their championship odds.
However, this year, there's no real debate when it comes to who should be at the top of both their lists.
The defending champion South Carolina Gamecocks start the season both as the No. 1 team in the AP Poll, but also the odds-on favorite to win their second straight.
Head coach Dawn Staley has won two championships since arriving in Columbia, along with four Final Four appearances in the last seven NCAA tournaments.
The Stanford Cardinal are next on the board for both the poll and Vegas odds. They returned to the Final Four a season ago, but fell as a No. 1 seed to No. 2 UConn in the semifinals.
The aforementioned Huskies rank third on the board in Vegas, but fall to sixth in the AP Poll to begin the season. Their best player, Paige Bueckers suffered an ACL tear back in August and is expected to not play all year.
Where else do the poll and odds differ? Where do the rest of the contenders shake out?
