The Heisman Trophy discussion after Week 5 wasn't about how player performed, but unfortunately, it was about who got injured.

2021 Heisman winner Bryce Young left Alabama's 49-26 win at Arkansas with what is being called a shoulder sprain, per coach Nick Saban. Young, who was the third choice to win the award heading into Week 5, but we can expect shakeups in the market following this one and more fine play from favorite C.J. Stroud.

Here is the latest rankings for the Heisman Trophy candidates:

1. C.J. Stroud, Ohio State (+150) - Last Week (+125)

Stroud didn't have to do much as the Buckeyes destroyed Rutgers, passing for 154 yards and two touchdowns with an interception, but his team rolled to a 49-10 win.

Stroud is being helped by the general lack of dominance elsewhere in the country and the injury to Young, but he is rightfully the favorite at this point in the season.

2022 Stats: 92-134, 1,376 Passing Yards, 18 TDs, 2 INTs

Next Week: @ Michigan State

2. Caleb Williams, USC (+500) - Last Week (+500)

Williams had a massive statistical day against Arizona State, completing 27-of-37 passes for 348 yards and three touchdowns while adding another TD on the ground.

The USC quarterback is firmly the second choice to win the award.

2022 Stats: 107-159, 1,402 Passing Yards, 12 TDs, 1 INT

The biggest news out of the college football world on Saturday was the "shoulder sprain" to Bryce Young that kept him out for the second half of the Crimson Tide's win at Arkansas.

Young was in line for a massive day before he went down with the injury, which of course pushed him further away from the likes of Stroud and Williams.

We'll see when Young can get on the field and make an impact before judging his odds in the market.

2022 Stats: 90-134, 1,202 Passing Yards, 14 TDs, 3 INTs

Next Week: Texas A&M

4. Hendon Hooker, Tennessee (+1400) - Last Week (+1600)

5. Adrian Martinez, Kansas State (+1600) - Last Week (+4000)

Following back-to-back big outings for the K-State quarterback, that included wins at Oklahoma and Texas Tech, Martinez has entered the fringes of the Heisman Trophy conversation.

Mainly doing it with his legs, the Wildcats are atop the Big 12 standings as they head to Ames to take on Iowa State. As the Wildcats continue to ascend the conference standings, Martinez will continue to hang around the conversation.
