It was a massive day for the 2022 Heisman Trophy battle, which has now become a two-man race.

Week 10 of the college football season started with Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud struggling in the wind and rain against Northwestern, but was able to do what last week's Heisman Trophy betting favorite Hendon Hooker couldn't do: win.

The Buckeyes defeated the Wildcats 21-7 despite some weather-impacted offense, while Tennessee was stifled against Georgia, losing 27-13 on the road in a battle of two College Football Playoff hopefuls.

Here is the fallout for the Heisman race following the most important weekend to date.

2022 Heisman Trophy Odds

1. Hendon Hooker, Tennessee (+160) - Last Week (+100)

Hooker was shutdown against Georgia, completing 23-of-33 passes for 195 with an interception. However, Tennessee didn't find the end zone until garbage time and was sacked six times.

The loss may not impact Hooker's bottom line, he has had a fantastic season, but the Vols now have lost control of their own destiny to the College Football Playoff and are essentially two games behind Georgia in the SEC East.

Without a conference championship game and likely possibly no CFP, Hooker's stock is trending in the wrong direction.

2022 Stats: 179-252, 2,533 Passing Yards, 22 Passing TDs, 2 INT, 4 Rushing TDs

Next Week: Missouri

2. C.J. Stroud, Ohio State (+180) - Last Week (+200)

It wasn't pretty for Stroud, who had three more rushing yards (79) than passing yards (76) in more than 40 mile per hour winds at Northwestern this weekend.

However, Stroud and the Buckeyes maintained their undefeated standing with a 21-7 victory, and will be double digit favorites in every game leading up to the CFP.

At this rate, with a comparable stat line to Hooker, a win against Michigan in the final game of the regular season will likely wrap up a Heisman Trophy nod for Stroud.

2022 Stats: 169-249, 2,453 Passing Yards, 29 Passing TDs, 4 INT

Next Week: Indiana
