While we approach the final week of the 2022 NCAA men's basketball regular season, the action is heating up on the women's side as the picture becomes more clear of who the oddsmakers are checking in on ahead of the NCAA Tournament.

At WynnBET Sportsbook, the South Carolina Gamecocks are the favorites at +175 odds to win the women's tournament. They have put together a truly impressive year and have lost just one game, a 70-69 overtime stunner to Missouri. Other than that, they have been untouchable.

Aliyah Boston is a double-double machine, averaging just under 17 and 12 while also breaking the all-time SEC record for most consecutive double-doubles.

USC finished their regular season Sunday with a 71-57 win over Ole Miss to finish the year 25-1. They wrapped up their campaign with the best record in the conference, and clinched the top seed in the SEC women’s basketball tournament.

Before we get too much deeper into the women’s tournament, let's take a look at the current odds to win it all at WynnBET Sportsbook

  • South Carolina | +175
  • Connecticut | +500
  • NC State | +600
  • Stanford | +600
  • Baylor | +1000
  • Louisville | +1000
  • Field | +2000
  • Michigan | +2000
  • Arizona | +2500
  • Maryland | +2500

Who Can Knock Off South Carolina in the 2022 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament?

While South Carolina is favored for good reason, that doesn’t mean the value on the other teams has suddenly evaporated. In fact, I think there are a couple of teams that make for a tempting underdog play to emerge on top from March Madness.

Stanford at +600 is the first team worth highlighting here as a strong option. The Cardinal is the No. 2 ranked team in the nation behind South Carolina with a 23-3 overall record. Leading scorer and rebounder Cameron Brink (13.6 PPG | 8.3 RPG) is one of four Cardinal players averaging in double figures this year.

One reason to like Stanford is that all three of their losses came early in the year to fellow ranked teams, including the No. 1 Gamecocks in a close 65-61 battle. They have not lost a game since Dec. 21.

For those who prefer to stick to the classics, UConn is also a pretty good value at +500. Led by reigning AP Player of the Year, Wooden Award winner and Naismith Trophy winner Paige Bueckers, the Huskies are a very dangerous threat come tournament time.

This year's team may not be at the same level as the program that won four straight national championships between 2013 and 2016; winning 111 games in a row at one point. Yet they are still remain a top 10 program and could do some damage in the tournament. The Huskies have reached the Final Four two years in a row and are primed for another run at the title.
