2022 NFL Mock Draft Based on Betting Odds

The NFL Draft is drawing closer, and the betting market is starting to take shape as reports come in on teams intentions.

The first round of the NFL Draft is on Thursday, April 28th and it's one of the most wide open drafts in recent history with very little indication who will be selected first by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Let's dive into the betting markets and breakdown who is expected to go in each spot in the top 10 based on what betting markets are telling us.

Odds shown are consensus unless stated otherwise

1. Jacksonville Jaguars - Travon Walker, DE

After climbing the odds board, Walker moved to the odds on favorite at WynnBET Sportsbook on Monday morning, now sitting at -200, surpassing Aidan Hutchinson (+180) in the process.

Those two are pass rushers that help fill a need, but picking first typically means the team has plenty of holes on the roster and the Jags are no different. Keep an eye on both Ikem Ekwonu (+800) and Evan Neal (+1500).

2. Detroit Lions - Aidan Hutchinson, DE

With Hutchinson falling out of the projected No. 1 pick, he now has become the odds on favorite to be the No. 2 pick, currently -160 at WynnBET.

This comes on the heels that Kayvon Thibodeaux moving to the favorite late last week. He is still in the mix, per betting markets, the third choice at +400. Walker is the second choice, though, sitting at +350 as of this writing.

3. Houston Texans - Ahmad Gardner, CB

Gardner is the betting favorite at +200 while Walker is also the second choice here as well at +350.

Nobody seems to have a sure read on Houston's thought process heading into the NFL Draft with several players still involved in the process, according to the market. Neal and Ekwonu are each +500 if the team opts to improve the offensive line while Thibodeaux is +575 in the chance the draft goes chalk as projected and takes the next best pass rusher.

Following a similar path to Gardner, the projected No. 2 cornerback in the draft, Derek Stingley Jr. is +575 to be the pick at No. 3.

4. New York Jets - Kayvon Thibodeaux, DE

Thibodeaux's floor appears to be No. 5 with the Giants, but betting markets are angling towards him being off the board at No. 4 with the other New York team, the Jets with an over/under of 4.5 heavily shaded towards the under (-175). He is below +200 to be the No. 4 pick.

Thibodeaux could go as high as No. 2 after he shifted to the favorite last week, but there are going to be plenty of options for Gang Green in this spot (they also pick at No. 10). Gardner is the next choice at +350, with Ekwonu after him in the +600 range.

Evan Neal is a longer shot at +1200 in betting markets despite being mentioned inside the top 5 in most reports, but the better dart may be on wide receivers. Many in the media have tied the Jets to a wide receiver at No. 10 (more on that in a bit) but if they believe in one of above the rest, they can grab him with the fourth pick.

Ohio State WR Garrett Wilson is +1400, while Drake London and Jameson Williams are each +2000.

5. New York Giants - Ikem Ekwonu, OT

Ekwonu can go as high as No. 1, but is favored to be selected by the Giants with their first of two picks in the top 10, sitting at +300 in the betting market. He is joined by Evan Neal at +300 with Ahmad Gardner +350, who has a fluid floor in terms of draft position inside the top 7.

Another offensive tackle, Charles Cross, has been linked to the Giants as well, and he is +500 to be selected at No. 5 if the team deems him the best fit for the roster.

6. Carolina Panthers - Kenny Pickett, QB

Pickett is still projected to be the pick to Carolina at No. 6, but it's crowded. He is +200 to be the pick while Malik Willis is +430. Pickett was recruited by head coach Matt Rhule when he was at Temple, and Carolina is one of the most QB needy teams in the league.

However, the team has been connected to offensive linemen throughout the draft process with Charles Cross the most likely selection, per betting markets, at +500. Ekwonu and Neal are +650 as well.

7. New York Gaints - Derek Stingley Jr., CB

Gardner has the shortest odds to be selected here, but is gone at No. 3, so we go to the next shortest odds which is the other cornerback, Derek Stingley Jr.

Stingley has been rising up mocks and the Giants have been linked to cornerbacks throughout the process. After getting an offensive lineman at No. 5, the team fixes up the defense at No. 7.

It's worth noting Charles Cross is +500 and Evan Neal is +600 to be selected at No. 7.

8. Atlanta Falcons - Garrett Wilson, WR

Atlanta has been linked to wide receivers at No. 8 given the suspension to Calvin Ridley during this offseason and they landed the consensus top wide out on the board in Wilson. Wilson is the favorite at +500 in the betting market to be the selection, but Alabama WR Jameson Williams is the second choice at +600.

After trading Matt Ryan in the offseason, Malik Willis is being factored into this selection, +600 as well to be the pick at No. 8 either by the Falcons or a team that trades up to pick him.

Further, safety Kyle Hamilton is +800, fellow wide out Drake London is +900 and defensive end Jermaine Johnson is +900 as well.

9. Seattle Seahawks - Charles Cross, OT

The Seahawks are beginning a lengthy rebuild and can go in several directions with this pick, but the favorite is Cross, who is +400 in the market.

Evan Neal, who could be gone at this point given his location in mock drafts but not in this simulation, is behind ross at +500. Johnson is +800 to give the Seahawks a pass rusher while Willis checks in at +1000.

Another offensive lineman comes towards the top as well with Northern Iowa's offensive lineman Trevor Penning checking in at +1200.

10. New York Jets - Jameson Williams, WR

Williams tore his ACL in the Naitonal Champinship game, but that has not stopped him from flying up mock drafts over the last month. As we alluded to earlier, the Jets have been tied to wide receivers in the pre draft process and they are projected to select Williams at No. 10, who is about +200 to be a top 10 pick and +300 to be selected at No. 10.

Wilson, who could be gone at this point, is +400 while London is +600.
