The second major tournament of the 2022 PGA Tour season is officially in the books, and Justin Thomas has been crowned the PGA Champion.

This is his second major victory, as well as his second PGA Championship. He also won the PGA Championship in 2017.

The next major tournament on the schedule is the U.S. Open, set to take place from June 16th-19th at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts.

WynnBET Sportsbook has Justin Thomas' odds set at +1600 to win his second-straight major.

Let's take a look at the full list of top 10 golfers on the odds list to win the 2022 US Open.

  • Dustin Johnson +1600
  • Justin Thomas +1600

Mito Pereira Melts Down in Final Round

Mito Pereira entered the final round with a three-stroke lead on the field. Despite not playing his best golf, he still had a one-stroke lead heading into the final hole. He pulled driver on the 18th, and his tee-shot ended in the water hazard. After a few more bad shots, he ended up scoring a double-bogey to not only lose, the lead, but miss out on a playoff.

Pereira was listed at around +15000 (150/1) to win the event, and would've been the first Chilean golfer to win a major tournament.

Can Justin Thomas Win the U.S. Open?

Justin Thomas has now proven twice that he can win a major tournament, and has silenced critics who pointed out he hadn't been in contention in many major tournaments after winning his first in 2017.

Despite this being his first tournament win of 2022, Thomas has been one of the best and most consistent golfers on Tour. I wouldn't be shocked to see his odds become shorter as we approach the tournament, so I'd recommend betting on him sooner rather than later.
