The Miami Hurricanes are one of the most storied programs in college football history, winning five national championships. That gridiron success hasn't exactly translated to the hardwood, as the men's basketball team has limited success to show for its 10 NCAA Tournament appearances.

Fresh off upsetting No. 2 Auburn in the Round of 32, the Hurricanes take on No. 11 Iowa State with a chance at making the Sweet 16 for just the fourth time in school history.

Has Miami ever made it to the national championship or even past the Sweet 16?

When Was the Hurricanes’ Last National Championship

The answer is, uh, well, no. Miami has never won a national championship or made it past the Sweet 16.

They've made it this far three times (2000, 2013, & 2016) but are seeking their first Elite Eight appearance. The Hurricanes take on Iowa State Friday night at 9:59 PM EST and are poised to become the most successful team in program history.

WynnBET has Miami as 2.5-point favorites and -135 on the moneyline, so their odds to advance are strong. But what are their chances to actually win the whole thing?

Miami’s Odds to Win National Championship

The Hurricanes are listed at +4000 to win the National Championship over at WynnBET Sportsbook. A difficult matchup with Kansas or Providence would await them in the Elite Eight, but Miami has excelled as an underdog all season.

I wrote before the tournament that the Hurricanes were a great dark horse bet to make the Final Four and I still feel that way.

KenPom has Miami with the 18th best offense in the country. They're an experienced, talented group that can drain three-pointers and protect the ball as well as any team in the tournament. Isaiah Wong has been sensational in the first two rounds and if he can stay hot, the Hurricanes can beat anyone.

+4000 gives Miami implied odds of 2.44% to win the NCAA Tournament, so there's still value there if you believe in this squad like I do.

We'll bring you all the latest odds and analysis here at BetSided to help you make the best bet for the remaining games in the tournament. I love this Hurricanes squad and think they have a real shot at the first Final Four in school history.
