On the eve of the WNBA season starting, let’s talk MVP candidates. There’s a lot of talent in the league and the award is anybody’s to grab.

Last year, Jonquel Jones won her first MVP award. This year, she’s second on the odds list to A’Ja Wilson – who’s looking to win her second MVP award. Here is how the top 5 of the odds standings look.

All odds listed are via WynnBET.

Odds to Win 2022 WNBA MVP

  • A'ja Wilson: +300
  • Jonquel Jones: +500
  • Breanna Stewart: +600
  • Arike Ogunbowale: +600
  • Tina Charles: +800

Here are three players, in and out of the top 5, to bet on to win WNBA MVP this season.

2022 WNBA MVP Top Bets

A’ja Wilson, Las Vegas Aces (+300)

Wilson won the award back in 2020 when she averaged 20.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. She is about to be unlocked in 2022. Without Liz Cambage there, Wilson has the entire post to work with and will have the ball in her hands even more.

The Aces are one of the best teams in the league and will be able to put Wilson in a position to make her yearly resume look good.

Arike Ogunbowale, Dallas Wings (+600)

Ogunbowale made the leap to All-Star last season, and she has the potential to make the jump to MVP.

In 2020, she averaged just under 19 points and shot 38% from the floor. If she can keep the scoring high and increase her efficiency, Ogunbowale can steal this award.

The Wings are going to be in the playoff discussion and Ogunbowale is the leading scorer by a mile. At +600, she has good value over Wilson.

Sabrina Ionescu, New York Liberty (+1500)

Ionescu had a down season in 2021 in what was essentially her first year in the league. She missed a majority of the 2020 season after suffering a sprained ankle early in the year.

Ionescu is +1500 to win the award and has major value. When we saw her at her best, she could shoot the lights out, score with ease and get her teammates involved.

If she returns to that level of play and the Liberty remain in the playoff picture, Ionescu could be the dark horse pick to win the award.
