The NBA's 5-game Christmas Day slate tips off from Madison Square Garden when the New York Knicks host the ailing Atlanta Hawks just after 12:00 pm ET.

The Hawks are fielding a makeshift roster with as many as 9 different players out due to being placed in the league's health and safety protocols for COVID-19.

After opening as a 5-point favorite, the Knicks have been bet up to -7 over at WynnBET Sportsbook, with the total plummeting down from 213 to 207.

Peter Dewey wrote up his favorite bet for Atlanta vs. New York on Friday, plus our BetSided team's collective "Best Bets" for Christmas Day are available for you as well.

3 Best Prop Bets for Hawks vs. Knicks

  • Delon Wright OVER 8.5 Points (-130)
  • John Collins OVER 7.5 Rebounds (-140)
  • Kemba Walker UNDER 5.5 Assists (-130)

Delon Wright OVER 8.5 Points (-130)

The Hawks' injury report is quite alarming, with anywhere from 10-12 players expected to miss today's game vs. the Knicks.

Wright is one of the few players still available and is getting quality minutes in the process. He's played more than 33 minutes in his last two starts. Granted, he only hit this prop in one of the last two games with quality minutes, but points need to come from somewhere and the matchup is ideal now that Knicks PG Kemba Walker is seeing substantially more minutes.

He's listed as probable with a left ankle sprain, but if he's a go, expect plenty of minutes and opportunities for Wright to score today.

John Collins OVER 7.5 Rebounds (-140)

How can I bet against "The Preacher" on Christmas Day?

Collins' last outing in their 98-96 win over the 76ers was a dud on the rebounding side, but he had previously gone for a double-double in the three games before that.

Collins has averaged more than 35 minutes in his last two games as the Hawks have put more and more players into the health and safety protocol, and faces a Knicks team that can be challenged offensively.

'More opportunities to crash the glass along with availability on the court should lead to plenty of volume on the boards this afternoon for the Hawks' PF.

Kemba Walker UNDER 5.5 Assists (-130)

Walker has been a busy man after 10 DNP's (Coach's Decision) for the Knicks. In his last three games, he's averaging 31.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists vs. the Celtics, Pistons and Wizards.

However, even vs. a collection of mis-fit toys in the Hawks, Walker's primary objective today will be to score and score at volume. He's coming off a 43 minute game on Thursday vs. the Wizards and while all of his primary stats went up, it also was by far and away his highest usage rate of the season.

The Knicks have more options available to day, and Walker can focus on being "The Man" at MSG in a standalone matchup. The points prop in addition to 'assists' is fairly inflated at multiple sportsbooks which also gives us an advantage to go under on Walker this afternoon.
