3 Best NBA Christmas Day Prop Bets for Mavericks vs. Jazz
By Reed Wallach
The final game of the NBA Christmas marathon concludes in Utah with the Jazz hosting the Dallas Mavericks.
Utah is laying double digits in this one as the Mavericks are trying to field a competitive roster that has been without Luka Doncic for an extended period of time.
For our game betting preview, along with a pick, you can check it out here, but here are three prop bets at WynnBET Sportsbook that caught our eye ahead of this late night showdown.
3 Best Prop Bets for Mavericks vs. Jazz
- Bojan Bogdanovic OVER 15.5 Points (-135)
- Jordan Clarkson OVER 13.5 Points (-125)
- Jalen Brunson OVER 6.5 Assists (-120)
Bojan Bogdanovic OVER 15.5 Points (-135)
Bogdanovic has gone over this number in six straight games and nine of his 10, so while there is a tax to pay for this at -135, I'm betting the over given the dynamite offense of the Jazz, and the Mavericks lack of weapons to cover the well balanced Utah rotation.
Dallas is short-handed going into this one and are going to look to slow down Donovan Mitchell and the Jazz ball handlers. However, with attention on them, that's going to open up spot up shooters like Bogdanovic to hoist from deep.
Again, this number is far too low given his recent production. In a game that the Jazz are favored by 13, expect their offense to get whatever they want and Bogdanovic to clear this total with his 43% three-point percentage.
Jordan Clarkson OVER 13.5 Points (-125)
In a similar vein, I expect the Jazz second unit to have a ton of success against the shorthanded Mavericks. Clarkson, Utah's sixth man, is coming off a few weak outings, but I'm going to buy the dip on his point prop.
Clarkson is averaging more than 14 points per game this season, but is coming off of three straight games where he didn't score more than 12. Again, I see this as an advantageous matchup for the Jazz along the perimeter, so I can see several heat checks for the microwave guard.
Jalen Brunson OVER 6.5 Assists (-120)
The biggest beneficiary of Doncic's absence from a usage perspective is Brunson, who has been thrust into primary ball handler duties. In five games without Doncic, Brunson has averaged over 20 points and 8 assists and I like him to keep it up as a distributor.
This is a pure numbers play for me with the amount of reps Brunson will get at point guard.
