The Boston Celtics have a big Steph Curry problem heading into Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors.

The superstar guard is averaging 34.3 points per game in 37.1 minutes on the court. He is shooting 49.0 percent from downtown and has carried this team on his back on more than one occasion during the playoffs. His performance in Game 4 was epic and helped pull the Warriors back even with the Celtics.

The Celtics will adjust here but will it do much good? And how will it affect player props for this important Game 5?

Let’s take a look at some relevant prop odds for this showdown, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

3 Best Prop Bets for Celtics vs. Warriors

  • Stephen Curry OVER 5.5 Assists (-135)
  • Stephen Curry OVER 5.5 3-Pointers Made (+100)
  • Jordan Poole OVER 12.5 Points (-125)

Stephen Curry OVER 5.5 Assists (-135)

It is scary to fade Curry right now with the way he has been playing. I made the mistake of going UNDER his points total in Game 1 and will not be making that mistake again. However, I do expect the Celtics to make some impactful defensive changes aimed directly at Curry.

The Celtics can’t afford to let him score 40-plus again in Game 5. The extra attention of Curry will allow him to showcase his playmaking abilities and rack up a ton of assists tonight. He’s averaging just 3.8 dimes per game against the Celtics but has the capability to do much more than that in the passing game.

I refer you to his 7.4 assists per game average in the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks.

Stephen Curry OVER 5.5 3-Pointers Made (+100)

Curry will be blanketed by the Celtics in this game, but the potential Finals MVP has a knack for finding space in the backcourt. If not, he also has no problem jacking up a 3 at the halfcourt circle. He’s going to find his chances is all I am saying.

Considering he is shooting nearly 50 percent from deep, every chance he has is dangerous for Boston. Curry has gone over this total in three of his four games in this series including seven in Game 4. At plus money, this is a near-impossible prop to pass on.

Jordan Poole OVER 12.5 Points (-125)

I think that the biggest beneficiary from Curry’s extra attention will be Jordan Poole. The Warriors' young guard has already gone over this total twice in four games while the Celtics were not hyper-focused on Curry.

Now, with the changes I expect them to make, Poole will be left with a significant amount of extra space and time to work with.
