3 Best NBA Prop Bets Today for Hawks vs. Raptors (Trust Fred VanVleet, Trae Young)
By Peter Dewey
The Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors have playoff position on the line when they face off in Toronto on Tuesday night.
The Raptors are trying to nab the No. 5 spot from the Chicago Bulls, while the Hawks are hoping to keep themselves in the No. 8 spot or higher entering the postseason. Our own Reed Wallach previewed this matchup, but what about some props?
Here are three that I’m eyeing with all odds via WynnBET Sportsbook:
Best Prop Bets for Hawks vs. Raptors
- Fred VanVleet 25+ Points and Assists (-164)
- Trae Young OVER 27.5 Points (-115)
- Scottie Barnes 1+ 3-Pointers (-164)
Fred VanVleet 25+ Points and Assists (-164)
The Hawks haven’t been a great defensive team this season, ranking just 26th in defensive rating, and Fred VanVleet is averaging 20.4 points and 6.6 assists per game on the year.
The veteran guard went through a bit of a rough stretch scoring in March, but he dropped 29 in Toronto’s last game and has cleared this number in four of his last nine games.
As long as FVV keeps trending up as a scorer, he should reach this with ease against a soft Atlanta defense.
Trae Young OVER 27.5 Points (-115)
The Raptors have a lot of length that they can throw at Young, but the All-Star guard was up to the challenge the last time these two teams played, scoring 41 points.
Young has cleared 27.5 points in five of his last seven games, and he’s averaging 29.8 points per game since the beginning of March.
The Hawks need this game for their standing in the play-in tournament, so I expect to see plenty of shots from Young on Tuesday.
Scottie Barnes 1+ 3-Pointers (-164)
I don’t love the juice on this prop for Barnes, but he’s coming off a game where he hit 3-of-9 3-pointers and has made a deep ball in back-to-back games.
Barnes went on a cold stretch late in March, but prior to that he had hit a 3-pointer in six straight games. I’m going to hope he stays hot from beyond the arc tonight.
