3 Best NBA Prop Bets Today for Heat vs. Hornets (Betting on the Heat's Lockdown Defense)
By Matt De Saro
The Charlotte Hornets and Miami Heat clash in what could be a preview of the Eastern Conference finals this year. Let’s take a look at some prop odds for this showdown, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.
3 Best Prop Bets for Heat vs. Hornets
- LaMelo Ball UNDER 20.5 Points (-108)
- LaMelo Ball OVER 3.5 Turnovers (-125)
- Terry Rozier UNDER 3.5 Threes Made (-115)
LaMelo Ball UNDER 20.5 Points (-108)
This is a bit of a risky move considering that Ball’s season scoring average is 20.2 points per game. But, this is more of a wager on the Heat’s defense than it is a bet against Ball. The Heat rank fifth in opponent points per game and limit teams to 34.5 percent shooting from downtown. They give up the least amount of field goals per game and also force a fair amount of turnovers. Also worth noting that Ball scored just 12 points the last time these two teams faced off on Feb. 5. In the game before that, he scored just six points back in October.
LaMelo Ball OVER 3.5 Turnovers (-125)
Doubling down on Ball and the Heat defense, I think he gets a case of the butterfingers tonight and coughs up a few turnovers. He has been on a tear lately of giving up four or more turnovers in games after doing it five of his last eight contests. That includes one game against Toronto where he had seven.
Terry Rozier UNDER 3.5 Threes Made (-115)
Another Hornets perimeter shooter and another fade in favor of the Heat defense. It helps that Rozier is coming off a 1-for-7 performance from downtown on Tuesday night against the Timberwolves. I also like that Rozier has gone under this total in three of his last four games and five of his last eight. I think it takes him another night to get back on track.
