3 Best NBA Prop Bets Today for Heat vs. Nets (The Return of Kevin Durant)
By Matt De Saro
The Miami Heat currently lead the Southeast Division at 41-22 but have to contend with the return of Kevin Durant tonight. Let’s take a look at some prop odds for this showdown, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.
3 Best Prop Bets for Heat vs. Nets
- Kevin Durant OVER 24.5 Points + Assists (+115)
- Bam Adebayo OVER 29.5 Points + Rebounds (-179)
- Duncan Robinson OVER 14.5 Points + Assists (+115)
Kevin Durant OVER 24.5 Points + Rebounds (+115)
Durant will be suiting up for action tonight for the first time since Jan. 15 when he injured his MCL against the New Orleans Pelicans. It has been 22 games since Durant suited up for this team and they have been in a tailspin the entire time going 6-16 in that span. This being a home game, the Nets will be without Kyrie Irving and Durant could really shine. For most guys, I would hesitate more in their first game back. Yet Durant is among the best players to ever lace ‘em up, and I only worry about his minutes, not about his rust.
Normally I would take this prop with points, assists, and rebounds (PAR), but I think Durant might be a little less active on the glass tonight than usual. Luckily, passing is easy on a dodgy knee and I think he plays facilitator in this game. Ideally, Durant plays at least 25 minutes tonight. With his talent, this is plenty of time to go over this total. As far as Miami’s stellar defense. They are in the second half of a back-to-back and Durant can make any defense feel helpless.
Bam Adebayo OVER 29.5 Points + Rebounds (-179)
At first glance, this total might seem a bit high, but Adebayo has been playing very well of late. He eclipsed this total in two of his last three games against the Bucks and Spurs. In the San Antonio game, Adebayo went over this total by 6.5 in just scoring alone. He added seven rebounds for a total of 41 on the night.
Even with Durant back in the mix, the Nets are not a good defensive team. They rank 20th in overall scoring and 19th in opponent points in the paint. Additionally, they rank 17th in offensive rebounding and 19th on defense. This feels like another big night for Adebayo.
Duncan Robinson OVER 14.5 Points + Assists (+115)
Robinson is not known as a particularly potent offensive weapon, but he does have the skills to go off if called upon to do so. He averages 11.5 points and 1.5 assists per game but, as I said before, the Nets have a pretty bad defense. The last time these two teams faced off on Feb. 12, Robinson had 17 points and three assists. This is a risky bet due to Robinson’s proclivity towards inconsistency. But he did put up 15 points last night against the Bucks. I’m banking on his previous game against Miami not being a fluke.
