The Los Angeles Lakers are set to host the streaking Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night at the Staples Center or whatever they are calling it these days. Los Angeles is coming off arguably its best game of the year against the Celtics and the Grizzlies are still riding high from their massive win over the Thunder.

Depending on the night, either Davis or James is the Lakers’ top-scoring option. Even when he is number two, Davis puts up some significant numbers. Davis is averaging 24.1 PPG along with 10.3 RPG. He has slowed slightly in his last 10 games but his average is still higher than the predicted total for this game. 

Davis has beaten this total in seven of his last 10 games including the last four in a row. 

LeBron James UNDER 6.5 Assists (-110)

There is no denying that LeBron James has always been a prolific passer and that hasn’t changed this season. However, the need for Bron to be the team distributer has lessened with the arrival of Russel Westbrook. James is still averaging an impressive 6.6 APG but just 6.3 over the last 10 games. On the road, those assists tend to dry up a bit and James is averaging just 4.3 APG away from the soon-to-be renamed Crypto.com Arena. 

Obviously, the more that Westbrook is on the court the more likely it is that James falls short of seven assists tonight and I am banking on just that. Russ is playing an average of 36.2 minutes so there isn’t a whole lot of time for the two to be separated. 

Additionally, James is listed as questionable tonight with an abdomen injury. 

Russell Westbrook OVER 18.5 Points (-115)

Wilson took his time getting up to speed this season but he is firing on all cylinders as we head toward the New Year. He is averaging 20.4 PPG but has kicked his scoring up a notch over the last two weeks. In his last 10 games he is averaging 29.1 PPG and 23.5 in his last eight games. He has eclipsed this total in seven of his last eight games and should show up again tonight.
