3 Best NBA Prop Bets Today for Pelicans vs. Suns Game 5 (Trust Brandon Ingram, Fade Jae Crowder)
By Peter Dewey
The Phoenix Suns will host the New Orleans Pelicans in a crucial Game 5, as the series is tied at two games apiece.
With Devin Booker injured, the Suns' offense struggled in Game 4 with Chris Paul scoring just four points. For the Pelicans, Brandon Ingram and C.J. McCollum have been dominant at times this postseason, and the team has a legitimate shot to upset the Suns in the first round.
Let’s get into some player prop action for this game, with all odds via WynnBET:
Best Prop Bets for Pelicans vs. Suns Game 5
- Deandre Ayton OVER 20.5 Points (-135)
- Jae Crowder UNDER 10.5 Points (-135)
- Brandon Ingram OVER 26.5 Points (-115)
Deandre Ayton OVER 20.5 Points (-135)
Deandre Ayton has been huge since Booker went down in Game 2 with a hamstring injury, scoring 28 and 23 points in the last two games for Phoenix.
In this series, Ayton has seen his usage jump drastically with Booker out, as he went from six shots in Game 2 to 20 shots in Game 3 and 14 shots in Game 4.
The Suns need to get their big man going with less weapons on offense, so I’ll back him to have another big performance in Game 5.
Jae Crowder UNDER 10.5 Points (-135)
This has been a rough series for Jae Crowder, as he’s cleared this line just one time (11 points in Game 4) and has been in an awful shooting slump, going 1-for-17 from beyond the arc.
During the regular season, Crowder shot 34.8 percent from beyond the arc, so while we know he can make these shots, the Pelicans defense has done enough to limit him in this series.
I am going to fade Crowder again until we see him start to shoot the ball better, especially since he took just seven shots in Game 4 after reaching double-digits in the previous two matchups.
Brandon Ingram OVER 26.5 Points (-115)
Brandon Ingram is making the next step to stardom in this series, and I’m going to ride the BI train until the wheels fall off.
Ingram has turned in games of 37, 34 and 30 points, leading the Pels to two wins in the process, and I think he continues his strong play tonight.
The Suns haven’t had an answer for Ingram’s size on the wing, and he's been getting crazy usage since the play-in tournament started, taking 19 or more shots in five of his six games.
The only game he didn’t clear this total over that stretch was his 17-shot game in Game 1 of this series. Ingram should eclipse 26.5 points on Tuesday night with ease.
