3 Best NBA Prop Bets Today for Timberwolves vs. Raptors (Russell, Siakam, Towns Set Up Nicely)
By Joe Summers
The 43-33 Minnesota Timberwolves take on the 43-32 Toronto Raptors tonight at 7:30 PM EST in a crucial matchup for each team's playoff positioning.
With just a handful of games to go, both squads are battling for seeding in hopes of avoiding the Play-In Tournament.
In my preview, I wrote that I love the Timberwolves in this matchup. But I'll also be playing a few props that are screaming with value.
Using the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook, let's take a look at the props that have my attention in this critical game:
3 Best Prop Bets for Timberwolves vs Raptors
D'Angelo Russell 25+ Points + Assists (+150)
As good as the Raptors defense is, they tend to surrender big games to opposing guards. In their last handful of games, they gave up 32 combined points and assists to Marcus Smart, 28 to Darius Garland, 32 to Zach LaVine, 32 to Russell Westbrook, and 32 to Reggie Jackson.
Russell has struggled a bit of late, but I think that's creating value in a matchup that Toronto is likely to focus on limiting Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards. At +150, I'm more than willing to take a chance on Russell continuing a string of dominant guard play against the Raptors.
Pascal Siakam Over 23.5 Points (-135)
Siakam is on an absolute tear and is coming off a 40-point performance against the Celtics. Over his last 10 games, he's averaging 27.9 points per game and has cleared this prop seven times.
His usage rate has exploded to 30.2% over his last five and he's averaging just under 20 shot attempts per game. Minnesota plays at the fastest pace in the league and Siakam will have plenty of chances to get shots off. I'm trusting his recent form and going over.
Karl Anthony Towns Over 9.5 Rebounds (-115)
Towns has only 13 combined rebounds over his last two games but this matchup sets up well for him to get double digits. Prior to his last two games, Towns had cleared this prop in eight of his last 10 and faces a Raptors team today that ranks 28th leaguewide in effective field percentage during March.
He secured 11 rebounds when these teams last played and I think his struggles the last two games are creating value in this prop. Give me the over.
