After a jam-packed Monday in which every NBA team played, we’ve officially reached the first 10 games of the season checkpoint.

We’ve had some surprises in the early season from teams we expected to be tanking, and some disappointments from teams we thought would be contenders.

With the variance in the NBA on a night-to-night basis, it’s nice to have some consistent teams to back. Here are the top teams to back against the spread through the first 10 games of the NBA season.

Utah Jazz (9-3)

The Jazz have easily been the most shocking team this season. We thought they’d be first in line for the Victor Wembanyama sweepstakes, yet they stand at the top of the Western Conference. They’ve been underdogs in nine of their 12 games, winning 7 of those games.

Utah has found a way to use its mismatch pieces to win games, but I don’t expect them to start being favored in many of its games as the season progresses. Nevertheless, the Jazz are the best story in the league right now, so let’s ride this train until it falls off.

Cleveland Cavaliers (8-2)

Many saw the Cavaliers as dark horse contenders in the Eastern conference, and those people have been vindicated early this year. The Cavs – mainly without Darius Garland have gone 8-2 SU and ATS, covering in each of their wins.

The Cavs are the only team in the league that is top 5 in offensive and defensive rating. Cleveland looks like the most complete team in the league. With two elite offensive guards and two elite defensive bigs, they have everything needed to continue being a wagon.

Portland Trail Blazers (8-2)

The Blazers were another team that many thought would be towards the bottom of the conference. However, Damian Lillard came into this season healthy and that has made all the difference. Portland has covered as an underdog in six of their seven wins. As long as the books keep undervaluing the Blazers, keep backing them.
