3 Best NFL Teams to Bet Against the Spread This Season

Another week in the NFL, means another week of teams covering and switching up the rankings. Of the three teams that were at the top of the list last week, one failed to cover, one did cover and another one was on a BYE. That leaves us with a shaky situation at the top. 

After another crazy week in the NFL, let’s dive into the best teams against the spread.

Here are the top 3 teams in the NFL when it comes to covering the spread heading into Week 8

New York Giants (6-1) 

I don’t know how they keep doing it, but the New York Giants keep winning and keep covering in the process. New York has the best ATS record and is fourth in ATS margin. The Giants continue to be listed as underdogs, as they are 3-point underdogs to the Seattle Seahawks this week. 

If the first half of the season has been any indication of what’s to come, take the Giants to keep it close against Seattle. 

Atlanta Falcons (6-1) 

The Falcons got dogwalked by the Bengals this week, but they get to stay in the top three of the best ATS teams in the league. Atlanta has a big game this week against the Carolina Panthers, who have blown their franchise up. This game will be a good indication of whether the first five weeks of the season were a scam or if we can trust Atlanta on the spread again. 

Dallas Cowboys (5-2)

We’re replacing the Bills with the Cowboys this week because Buffalo was on a bye. The Cowboys handled the Lions fairly easily, winning 24-6. The biggest news of their week was Dak Prescott being back under center. He raises the ceiling for Dallas immensely and puts the Cowboys in contention to win the conference. 

Dallas has a big task ahead of it, being a 9.5-point favorite over the Chicago Bears. The Cowboys just knocked off one NFC North team, let’s see if they can do it again.
