Betting against the spread is a key part of betting on the NFL. It’s the best way to get value and not have to pay ridiculous amounts of juice. Some teams are good at winning games, and other teams are good at covering – which is what matters to us.

Here are the top 3 teams in the NFL when it comes to covering the spread heading into Week 6.

Best NFL Teams Against the Spread (ATS) This Season

Atlanta Falcons (5-0)

The Falcons were supposed to be one of the worst teams in the league this season. Yet heading into Week 6, they are 2-3 SU and the best team in the NFL against the spread. The Falcons have covered in every game this year – and only two of those games were over a touchdown spread.

The Falcons have a good running game, which allows them to keep control of the game and keep the game in their hands. As long as they continue to run the ball, they are one of the safer bets.

New York Giants (4-1)

The Giants are not only 4-1 ATS, but they’re also 4-1 SU.

New York has been an underdog three times this season and won all three games. With Saquon Barkley back and healthy, the Giants have been able to run all over their competition.

We still don’t know just how good this Giants team is, but as long as they continue to be valued as an underdog, betting on them wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.

Dallas Cowboys (4-1)

We just have to chalk this one up to Cooper Rush surprising us. Many people thought when Dak Prescott went down that the Cowboys’ season was over.

We didn't see the great defense or Cooper Rush showing up to save the day. Rush is undefeated as a starter – with a lot of help from Micah Parsons, Demarcus Lawrence and Trevon Diggs. We’ll see how long this lasts – as the Cowboys may start being favored in every game once Prescott comes back.

But we can ride the Cooper Rush bandwagon until it rides no more.
