3 Best NFL Teams to Bet Against the Spread This Season

For the first six weeks of the season, we were surprised about which teams ranked best against the spread teams in the league. We had a few underdog/Cinderella stories making their way up the list, but there's been some regression over the last few weeks.

Heading into Week 9, some of the names on the list are the same. Yet, they aren't as dominant as they were to start the year. Still, these are the top three against the spread teams in the league.

Best NFL Teams to Bet ATS (Ahead of Week 9)

New York Giants (6-2) 

New York has covered in every game it’s won and failed to cover in the games it’s lost, which is a pretty convenient way to look at the upcoming schedule. 

The Giants have run their way over a majority of the league, but Seattle exposed the defense’s “bend-don’t-break mentality.” If New York can’t hold teams to field goals moving forward, they could fall off this list in a hurry.

Atlanta Falcons (6-2) 

This is the second straight week the Falcons have failed to cover the spread. After starting the season 6-0 ATS, has the well run dry?

Atlanta is a 3-point underdog to the Los Angeles Chargers this week. They have the tools to keep it close, as the Chargers struggle defending the run and that’s where Atlanta makes its money. 

If the Falcons drop the ball this week, I think it will be time to move on. 

Dallas Cowboys (6-2)

The Cowboys are 2-0 ATS with Dak Prescott back, winning in blowout fashion two straight weeks. Prescott has elevated the offense to an elite level, which matches the great defense the Cowboys have played up until this point. 

Dallas is playing perfect complimentary football and looks like a complete team. As long as the offense does its job to add onto what the defense is doing, Dallas is going to cover in a lot of games.
