3 Best Prop Bets for 49ers vs Cowboys (Passing Props Should Go Over)
By Jon Helmkamp
After a wild first day of Super Wild Card weekend, we’re treated to three more games today. One of which looks to revitalize a classic NFC rivalry between the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers. There are plenty of offensive weapons in this game. Let’s find some prop bets worth betting.
Here are my three favorite player prop bets for today's game, with all odds courtesy of WynnBET.
Best Prop Bets for 49ers vs. Cowboys
- Deebo Samuel OVER 4.5 receptions (-115)
- Jauan Jennings receiving yards OVER 25.5 (-115)
- Dak Prescott pass attempts OVER 37.5 (-120)
Deebo Samuel OVER 4.5 receptions
Few wide receivers have been more surprising this year than Deebo Samuel. The All-Pro wide receiver has been a pivotal aspect of their offense, both in the receiving game and in the running game.
Kyle Shanahan loves to draw up ways to get Samuel the ball. While Samuel has had some games this year where he hasn’t factored into the passing game, he has also gone over 4.5 receptions nine times this season. With Jimmy Garoppolo healthy and back as the starting quarterback, and Elijah Mitchell taking over the running game where Samuel used to have to pitch in more at, Samuel has a great chance to top his reception total.
Jauan Jennings OVER 25.5 receiving yards
Yeah, I’m kinda in on the 49ers today. While it’s enticing to go with George Kittle because he’s a big name, he’s been in a cold stretch lately. Jauan Jennings has an attractive prop bet of only 25.5 receiving yards, and as the third option in their passing game. He won’t draw the same attention as Samuel, Kittle or Brandon Aiyuk.
Jennings has gone over 25.5 receiving yards in five of the last seven games, including a 94-yard performance last week against the Rams. Jennings has seen five or more targets four of the last five games, giving him plenty of opportunities to clear this low hurdle. I love Jennings today. I probably would have taken this if it was another 10 yards higher.
Dak Prescott pass attempts OVER 37.5
It feels like Dak Prescott and company are going to have to show up to play today, and with a ground game that has been struggling throughout the season, they’ve had to drop back to pass quite a bit. Odds makers know what they’re doing with this line — Prescott has attempted 37.3 passes per game this year — but there’s reason to believe he’ll have to throw it early and often today.
San Francisco has been one of the toughest defenses against the run as of late, allowing only 235 rushing yards and 1 TD over the last four weeks. With Elliott not being his normal self this year (he’s gone over 52 rushing yards twice since Week 6), the Cowboys might have to rely on the arm of Prescott today.
