The Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox meet for the all-important Game 5 of the ALCS tonight in Boston. With both teams locked in at two wins each, this game will give a massive advantage to whoever comes out on top.

I think that between the ALCS and NLCS this year, the American League is far more exciting with each team taking big swings at each other throughout the four games so far. The series has been a back-and-forth roller coaster and Game 5 should be no different.

There are plenty of player props to dive into for this game so let’s take a look at some of the more profitable examples..

Here are the consensus lines along with props available at WynnBET Sportsbook to try to spice this game up from a betting standpoint.

Best Prop Bets for Astros in ALCS Game 5

  • Jose Altuve OVER 1.5 total bases
  • Michael Brantley OVER 0.5 RBIs
  • Yordan Alvarez OVER 1.5 strikouts

Jose Altuve OVER 1.5 total bases

No matter what you might think of Altuve after the whole trash can debacle a few years ago, there is no denying his talent. While his production has petered off the last couple of seasons, Altuve is still one of the most dangerous leadoff hitters in the league. He is also effective on the basepaths and has some pop in his bat for a guy who is 5’6”.

What Altuve does exceptionally well is getting on base and making the most of his time on the basepath. So far in this postseason, Altuve has gone over this total in six of eight games against the White Sox and Red Sox.

With a shaky starter on the mound for Boston, I like Altuve’s chances to make it seven of nine.

Kyle Tucker OVER 0.5 RBIs

This series has been filled with offense, as evidenced by all but one game going into double digits and the other finishing with nine runs. One player at the center of that success for the Astros is Kyle Tucker. The 24-year-old outfielder has been solid at the plate this postseason, and has been an RBI machine.

Tucker has recorded an RBI in three of the last four games of this series and in five of the Astros eight postseason games thus far.

With all the runs being scored in this series, I think Tucker is a great bet to extend his RBI streak to four games in a row tonight.

Yordan Alvarez OVER 1.5 strikouts

While Kyle Tucker happily leads the Astros in RBIs this postseason, Alvarez leads in a less positive category, Strikeouts against. He has already struck out twice in two separate games during this series and four times during the postseason. This includes three in Game 3 of the White Sox series. The DH will be facing off against Chris Sale to start the night. While Sale has looked to be a shell of his former self, he can still strike batters out. The price is too good to pass this one up on the hopes that Sale gets an early K on Alvarez and gets into a funk to start the game.
