The NFL is here and it feels so good to be talking about real player props. The Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions kick off their season against each other in a rematch of a Week 8 matchup last season. The Eagles won that game 44-6, but this is obviously a new year with new expectations.

BetSided has you covered with a preview for the game, but let’s look at three prop bets you need to bet in this game.

Best Prop Bets For Eagles vs. Lions Week 1

  • Jalen Hurts OVER 46.5 Rushing Yards
  • D’Andre Swift OVER 31.5 Receiving Yards
  • Jared Goff UNDER 243.5 Passing Yards

Jalen Hurts OVER 46.5 Rushing Yards

The Eagles are going to give Jalen Hurts every opportunity to be successful from inside the pocket throwing the ball, but Hurts is one of the most dangerous runners in the league. It would work against the Eagles if they didn’t let him run the ball.

Hurts cleared this line nine times last season and saw at least 10 rushing attempts in six games. He also lit the Lions up for 71 rushing yards in last season’s matchup. I think Hurts will still be a big part of the rushing attack – as Miles Sanders may not be at 100%.

D’Andre Swift OVER 31.5 Receiving Yards

Swift has the potential to be one of the best dual-threat backs in the league. He caught at least five passes in 10 of the 13 games he played in, showing his value in the passing game. He was only 7-6 against this line last season, but the targets show that the opportunities will be there for him. Swift only had three games in which he finished with over 50 rushing yards last year. The passing game is a big part of his production.

I also think the Lions will be down in this game, meaning Swift will have an opportunity to get some extra receiving yards at the end of the day.

Jared Goff UNDER 243.5 Passing Yards

Goff cleared this line in five of the 14 games he played in last season, but he didn’t do it in the game against the Eagles. Philly held him to 222 yards in a 44-6 win. This year, the Eagles have an improved secondary, a force on the defensive line in Jordan Davis and another upgrade at linebacker with Nakobe Dean. If the Eagles’ defense comes out ready to play, expect Goff to have trouble moving the ball. While there is concern Goff can backdoor cover this prop, I’m confident in the Eagles’ new pieces.
