Just hours after the Braves’ second walk-off win in the NLCS over the Dodgers, it’s time to shift focus back to the ALCS and game three between the Astros and Red Sox. After two games in Houston, the series shifts to Boston for three games with these two teams tied with one win apiece.

As of this writing, the odds at WynnBET Sportsbook have Houston as slight underdogs +110 on the road while the BoSox are -120 to win. The total for this game is set at 9.

For this article, however, we will be picking the best 3 prop bets on the board for Game 3 and add some profits to our Monday betting cards.

Best Prop Bets For Astros vs. Red Sox

Jose Urquidy OVER 3.5 strikeouts

Betting props for pitchers in the postseason is always tricky because their usage can be unpredictable. Guys get pulled early, or, as was the case with Odorizzi in game 4, are left in to die on the vine.

Despite this, I like Urquidy’s chances to hang tough in this game against the Red Sox and do some damage in terms of strikeouts. The 26-year old comes into this game with a strong record on the road, going 4-2 with a 3.86 ERA on the year in 10 road starts.

In his one game against the Sox so far this year, Urquidy allowed just three hits and one earned run, striking out 9 in 6 innings.

Urquidy will be pitching on extra rest after his last game got rained out and the Astros rolled with Lance Mccullers on regular rest. I think this is a great spot for Urquidy to come into Boston and make a statement in game 3 to help the Astros take a 2-1 lead in this series.

Kiké Hernández OVER 1.5 hits

Hernández has been an absolute beast for the Red Sox so far this postseason.

Consider that over his last 7 games, the 30-year-old is hitting .500 with 5 home runs and 9 runs in 32 at-bats. That is one hell of a star to the postseason and, after game 2, It doesn’t appear he is close to stopping.

In that blowout win over the Astros, Hernández went 2-4 with a solo home run and 2 runs scored. Hernández is on a five-game streak of having at least 1 RBI, one hot and one run scored.

While I like Urquidy’s chances in this game to have a strong start, at this point Hernández could hit anyone. In the postseason e has gone over this total in four of seven games with 5 hits against the Rays in game 2 of the ALDS. I’m riding his streak with confidence.

J.D Martinez OVER 0.5 home runs

This bet is the longshot of the bunch but, at +300 odds, would make for a tidy profit to start the week. Martinez, much like a lot of this Boston roster, has been red-hot lately. He is coming off a game 2 that saw him go 2-5 with a grand slam. It was Martinez’s second bomb in the postseason and 30th on the season.

I think that Martinez looks locked in at the plate and I like his chances to go yard in back-to-back games. The matchup between him and Urquidy is a positive one for me as Martinez’s power zone matches up perfectly with where Urquidy likes to pitch. Martinez rakes pitches that are low and inside and that is where Urquidy likes to operate. I think one gets away from him and Martinez deposits it into the bleachers.
