3 Best Prop Bets for Bucks vs. Heat
By Peter Dewey
The Miami Heat will open their season against the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks, who dominated the Brooklyn Nets in their season opener on Tuesday.
Miami was swept by Milwaukee in the first round of last year’s playoffs, but a revamped roster that now includes Kyle Lowry has Miami as a 1.5-point favorite at WynnBET Sportsbook for tonight’s matchup.
Here are three prop bets that I have my eye on in this game:
Best Prop Bets for Bucks vs. Heat
- Kyle Lowry OVER 16.5 Points (+100)
- Bam Adebayo to Record a Double-Double (+100)
- Giannis Antetokounmpo OVER 30.5 Points (-108)
Kyle Lowry OVER 16.5 Points (+100)
There are two reasons why I love this Lowry prop on Thursday night.
One is the fact that he’s been a better scorer than people realize over the past seven seasons, and the other is that he’s going to have a big role with the Heat.
Lowry averaged 17.2 points per game last season, and he’s averaged over 16.0 points per game in all but one season since the 2013-14 campaign.
Miami’s guard depth in terms of ball-handlers is really weak behind Lowry, as Gabe Vincent and Tyler Herro appear to be next in line, and Herro is more of a two-guard than a point. Lowry is going to play heavy minutes all season, and I think that starts tonight in a close matchup with the Bucks.
Bam Adebayo to Record a Double-Double (+100)
Adebayo had 33 double-doubles in 64 games last season, yet he is also sitting at +100 to achieve this prop on Thursday.
Adebayo’s last game against the Bucks in the playoffs last season was by far his best, as he put up 20 points and 14 rebounds in the loss. The Heat big man is a rebounding machine, averaging 10.2 and 9.0 over the last two seasons while putting up 18.7 points per game (a career-high) in the 2021-22 season.
I’ll gladly take him at even money to get a double-double in this one.
Giannis Antetokounmpo OVER 30.5 Points (-108)
Giannis opened the season with a 32-point performance against the Nets and I think he builds on that tonight against Miami.
With Jrue Holiday (heel) out for tonight’s game, Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton will handle a bigger scoring load against the Heat. After Giannis averaged 30.2 points per game on last year’s playoff run, I like him to go over this number with increased touches.
