Nothing like a west coast rivalry for a playoff baseball nightcap. We got lucky with three games today and the final course is the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres with their series tied at one game apiece. The Dodgers send Tony Gonsolin (16-1, 2.14 ERA) to the mound and the Padres counter with Blake Snell, (8-10, 3.38 ERA).

Best Prop Bets Today for Dodgers vs. Padres (NLDS Game 3)

  • Dodgers-Padres NRFI
  • First 5 Under 3.5
  • Tony Gonsolin Over 3.5 Strikeouts

Dodgers-Padres NRFI

I’ve given this out on the NRFI/YRFI picks today because I love it so much. Tony Gonsolin and Blake Snell on the mound at just -140 is so much value, because these are two amazing first inning pitchers. Snell has a 1.88 ERA in the first inning and Gonsolin has a 0.75. Neither guy will go particularly deep into this game, but who cares about that, just cash this and get out.

First 5 Under 3.5

Speaking of not going particularly deep into the game, I also love the first 5 under 3.5, because of how effective these two pitchers are early in the game. Not only does Snell have a 1.88 ERA in the first inning, but it is the same for the second and third innings. Now, the fourth and fifth get a little dicey, as he sees the lineup for a second time, but hopefully Bob Melvin will have a quick hook and we can cash this one as well.

Tony Gonsolin Over 3.5 Strikeouts

Is it a little dangerous to have all of your props tied to the same line of thinking? Maybe, but not if that line of thinking is correct. Gonsolin has been used as a glorified opener at times this season and these odds reflect that, but he will be given a longer leash than the books expect. Reports have said Gonsolin will get about 75 pitches. He isn’t a dominant strikeout pitcher, but that is enough time for him to rack up four and get out unscathed.
