3 Best Prop Bets for Dodgers vs. Padres in NLDS Game 3 (Trust Musgrove and Anderson to Miss Bats Tonight)
By Josh Yourish
The San Diego Padres have a chance to close out the big bad, LA Dodgers and Tyler Anderson (15-5, 2.57 ERA) tonight at home and they send Joe Musgrove (10-7, 2.93 ERA) to the mound to try and do it. Musgrove closed out the Mets in the Wild Card round, but can he do it again against another 100 win team?
Best Prop Bets for Dodgers vs. Padres
- Tyler Anderson Over 3.5 Strikeouts
- Trent Grisham Over 1.5 Total Bases (+220)
- Joe Musgrove Over 5.5 Ks (+130)
Tyler Anderson Over 3.5 Strikeouts
Anderson isn’t a big strikeout pitcher, but his last start he threw 10 Ks and certainly has the capability to clear 3.5 today. The biggest case for this is that the Padres have by far the most strikeouts in the postseason as a team so far. Sure, they’ve played the most games, but 64 strikeouts in six games is a lot and 21 more than the next closest team.
Trent Grisham Over 1.5 Total Bases (+220)
It is pretty crazy that you can even get a line of 1.5 total bases for a player like Grisham who struggled with the bat all season, he must have been saving it for October because he is third in postseason OPS. Grisham has a 1.411 OPS in six postseason games and his three home runs are the most.
Joe Musgrove Over 5.5 Ks
In Musgrove’s dominant start against New York he only had five strikeouts, but he has a 24.9% strikeout rate on the year, and a chase rate in the top quarter of the league. The Dodgers have been striking out in this series with 31 Ks in three games. Not quite as drastic as the Padres, but I like this bet at plus odds.
